Smart Nano NI Annual Report 2024

Smart Nano NI Consortium, funded by UKRI Strength in Places Fund, marks the halfway point of their programme with the publication of its annual report. This milestone offers a chance to reflect on the consortium’s achievements, ongoing goals, and the legacy of economic growth it aims to leave behind.

A key success has been the strong collaboration between industry and academia, fostering innovation and a shared vision for Northern Ireland’s role in advanced nanotechnology, smart manufacturing and photonics.

The project has sparked a cultural shift in how partners approach collaboration and information sharing, enhancing both skills and ambition within the region.

The skills base in Northern Ireland is evolving to support the expansion of nano device manufacturing, positioning the region as a growing hub for smart technology innovation.

Although the journey is ongoing, Smart Nano NI’s progress so far points to a strong trajectory — combining research, collaboration, and local impact to build a competitive and sustainable future in nanotechnology.
