North West Regional College; Investing in innovation and skills development

Over £2 million has already been invested in the Foodovation, Product Design and Design Innovation for Assisted Living (DIAL) Centres which have provided a springboard for the College and its Business Support Centre (BSC) to work with entrepreneurs, businesses, students and the wider community to develop their skills and realise product innovations in these economically important areas.

NWRC’s track record for innovation and skills delivery have seen it grow to a team of over 25 staff and in October 2020 was awarded the Times Educational Supplement (Tes) UK award for Employer Engagement, having supported over 1700 businesses in the last 5 years.

Not resting on its laurels, the College has engaged with industry and stakeholders and has assessed the economic landscape and is planning its next stage of development. Planning is underway for further innovation centres virtual and augmented reality and automation, areas that will be core to the industry 4.0 revolution.
